Dental Plan Options

The City of Atlanta offers three Dental Plan options:

The Cigna Dental PPO – High Option lets you visit any licensed dentist or specialist you want. Costs are normally lower when you choose a network provider. You pay the Cigna negotiated rate for covered services from participating dentists even if you exceed your annual benefit maximum. There is no deductible for diagnostic and preventive services.

The High Option covers 50% of qualified orthodontic services for adults and dependent children up to a $1,500 lifetime maximum per person.

To find an in-network dentist:

  • Go to mycigna.com, or
  • Call Customer Service at the toll-free number listed on the back of your ID card.

The Cigna Dental PPO – Low Option lets you visit any licensed dentist or specialist you want. Costs are normally lower when you choose a network provider. You pay the Cigna negotiated rate for covered services from participating dentists even if you exceed your annual benefit maximum. There is no deductible for diagnostic and preventive services.

The Low Option does not cover orthodontic services.

You have coverage for preventive, basic, and major dental services, and you can take advantage of:

  • Lowest payroll deduction option
  • No deductibles
  • No annual maximum
  • Generally lower out-of-pocket expenses than the Dental PPO options

Coverage is not applicable outside of Georgia.
